Perfect for families, first-time trekkers, or travelers with limited time, this half-day jungle experience offers a gentle introduction to the rainforest. Walk along trails near the forest edge where you may encounter semi-wild orangutans and other native wildlife. With a bit of luck, you’ll spot a mother orangutan and her baby swinging through the canopy. Before returning, enjoy a selection of fresh tropical fruits and finish the adventure with a relaxing river tubing experience back to Bukit Lawang.

START YOUR ADVENTURE
Begin your morning with breakfast at our guesthouse before meeting your local guide. At your preferred departure time between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, you’ll cross the Bohorok River by traditional wooden boat and continue on foot through local rubber plantations toward Gunung Leuser National Park.
EXPLORE THE RAINFOREST
Venture into the rainforest in search of Sumatran orangutans and other native wildlife. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the forest, its unique ecosystem, and the fascinating plants and animals that call it home. Enjoy a refreshing break with fresh tropical fruits before continuing your trek.
END WITH RIVER TUBING
Complete your adventure by floating down the Bohorok River on a traditional jungle tube. It’s the perfect way to relax after your trek while taking in the beauty of the surrounding rainforest. Back in Bukit Lawang, your guide will escort you to the guesthouse, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your time in Sumatra.
