Itinerary :

YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your guesthouse or accommodation at around 9:00 AM. From there, you’ll travel by traditional becak (motorized rickshaw) or scooter, heading into the peaceful countryside surrounding Bukit Lawang. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of rice fields, rubber plantations, and the distant rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park. Feel free to stop whenever you’d like to watch local farmers at work or simply take in the beautiful rural landscape.

EXPERIENCE LOCAL VILLAGE LIFE

Visit traditional villages and discover how local families live and work. Explore small home industries where tofu and palm sugar are still produced using methods passed down through generations. You’ll also learn about traditional craftsmanship, including weaving tepas (bamboo walls) and creating roof coverings from dried palm leaves.

MEET THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

As you stroll through the village, your guide will share stories about local customs, farming traditions, and everyday life. Feel free to ask questions and interact with the local community to gain a deeper understanding of their culture and way of life.

ENJOY A REFRESHING LOCAL TREAT

Take a relaxing break and enjoy a freshly picked coconut or another refreshing local drink while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the village.

TRADITIONAL MARKET VISIT

If your visit falls on Friday or Sunday, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the lively local market. Wander through colorful stalls filled with fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, aromatic spices, and traditional snacks while experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of everyday village life.

RETURN TO BUKIT LAWANG

If you’d like to stop for lunch before returning, your guide will be happy to recommend a local restaurant (lunch is not included). The tour concludes around 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, after which you’ll be taken back to your guesthouse or accommodation.
